HTML Editor Tools
Create your web site using an HTML editor tool. Here are some free ones:
1st Page 2000 WARNING: Please read the paragraph below before downloading this.
Netscape Composer (part of Netscape Navigator)
or Netscape Full Download
Microsoft FrontPage can also be used to create your web site, but please do NOT use any of the FrontPage Server Extensions. We don't support them.
If you are a real bit banger, you can log into your Linux shell account and create your HTML by hand using the vi editor. But most people will NOT want to take this route. ;-)
To load your web site at SafeSecureHost.com you have to use secure tools.
We don't support Telnet because it just is not secure enough!
We do support FTP, but don't recommend using it.
Telnet and FTP both transmit your password in a format that sniffers can read and decode.
Log into your shell account with ssh (secure shell).
Copy files to your public_html directory with scp (secure copy) or sftp (secure ftp).
These command line tools are built into Linux and Unix systems.
Windows users can get a free "Unix like" command line environment by installing Cygwin.
If you only want to use GUI tools, the free programs
TeraTerm and TTSSH,
WinSCP will do the job nicely.

You do NOT need to download, compile, and install the software. We have already done all that work for you. You can relax and just use this great package.
We typically set up a web hit counter file for you when we set up your domain.
Your hit counter file name is based on your domain name.
If your domain name is www.mydomain.com then your hit counter file name is mydomain.com.dat
We start your hit counter at zero unless you specifically request a different starting value.
If your hit counter value gets messed up, you can request the value be set to what you want by emailing a request to firstname.lastname@example.org
If you see a counter font at the Digit Mania page that you just absolutely have to have, please email a request to email@example.com
We currently support fonts A, B, bang, C, cd, cdd, cdr, D, E, and M.
If you try to use your hit counter and have any problems, please send an email describing the problem to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will help you get it fixed as quickly as possible.
Web Site Traffic Statistics
Web site traffic analysis is provided by the "Webalizer" program. Results are in the /usage directory on your domain.
